Project Emerald set out to redefine workplace wellbeing, and in just 23 months—nine months faster than industry norms—it has delivered one of the healthiest office environments in the world at GSK’s new HQ in Central London.

Health & Wellbeing at the Core
Unlike traditional office spaces, GSK HQ prioritizes exercise, relaxation, and healthy eating. An on-site farm and in-house catering provide fresh, nutritious food, supporting employees’ health while also supplying local food banks.

A Data-Driven, Smart Design
Backed by the largest workplace science study of its kind, GSK tracked stress, cognitive function, and well-being among 800+ employees using wearable technology. Early results show improved stress management and cognitive performance at the new HQ, demonstrating the tangible benefits of its design.

Sustainability & Innovation
GSK HQ is targeting BREEAM Outstanding and WELL Platinum, with pioneering sustainability measures:

* Milliken Luxury Vinyl Tile Take Back Scheme, saving 6,000kg of flooring waste from landfill

* Europe’s largest office-based vertical farm, used for education and community outreach

* Recycled paint from Paint 360, helping SMEs bring eco-friendly products to market

* A Smart Site system, tracking energy use, air quality, and humidity from day one
