The Orangery: GSK’s Culinary Innovation with a Purpose
GSK’s new headquarters isn’t just a workplace – it’s a wellbeing destination. At the heart of this is The Orangery, a revolutionary farm-to-fork restaurant designed to support employee health, environmental sustainability, and community engagement in one seamless experience.
Europe’s Largest Indoor Vertical Farm
Located directly beneath the restaurant, The Orangery’s 1.3-acre vertical farm is the largest in Europe. Using hydroponics and LED technology, it grows over 20,000 organic plants annually. This on-site farm slashes the carbon footprint, increases nutrient quality, and ensures a consistent supply of fresh produce all year round – whatever the weather.
Seasonal Menus, Local Flavours
The Orangery celebrates seasonal, sustainable eating. Its ever-evolving menus showcase produce harvested on-site, supplemented only by local suppliers. This not only supports British growers but also keeps food miles low and culinary creativity high. Every dish reflects a commitment to quality, health, and the environment.
A Community Hub in the Heart of GSK
True to GSK’s mission to improve lives, The Orangery goes beyond the corporate campus. Through school tours, charity harvests, and educational events, the space connects with local people and teaches the importance of sustainability and nutrition. Over 20 community harvests and 150 annual events are already planned, reinforcing GSK’s role as a socially responsible neighbour.
By uniting innovation, sustainability, and community impact under one roof, The Orangery embodies GSK’s bold vision of getting ahead of disease – together.
