MacFarlane Place: Affordable Living in the Heart of White City

MacFarlane Place is a landmark affordable housing development within the wider Television Centre masterplan in London’s White City regeneration zone. Transforming a former BBC car park, the scheme delivers 142 high-quality homes alongside new public realm and retail space—bringing lasting value to the community.

Complex Site, Seamless Delivery
Constructed just six metres from an active railway line, the site posed significant logistical challenges. Through close coordination with Transport for London and a tightly integrated supply chain, the team delivered the project to programme. Daily progress monitoring and agile interventions ensured the timely handover of each phase, despite the constrained environment.

Commercial Resilience in Uncertain Times
Amid rising inflation and global supply chain disruption, the project team took proactive steps to manage risk. By securing additional storage space adjacent to the site, they were able to procure and stockpile materials in advance—avoiding delays and cost spikes. This collaborative approach helped maintain momentum through a commercially challenging period.

All-Electric, Future-Ready Homes
MacFarlane Place champions sustainable design. Heating and hot water are fully electric, delivered via air-source heat pumps. The development also features enhanced urban connectivity, restored historic street layouts, and flexible ground-floor commercial space to support a thriving, inclusive neighbourhood.

With a tenure mix of London Affordable Rent, London Living Rent, and Shared Ownership, and managed by Peabody Trust, MacFarlane Place delivers on affordability, sustainability, and long-term community benefit—setting a new benchmark for London living.
